Atrovent inhalation solution is not a fast-acting medication and cannot replace fast-acting rescue inhalers. Sometimes inhaled medications can make breathing problems worse; let your doctor know if Atrovent is not adequately controlling your breathing problems. This is an anticholinergic medication and it can worsen glaucoma, bladder problems, and prostate problems. It also can interact with other medications. Tell your doctor about any other medicine, or dietary supplements you are using. Do not use Atrovent Inhalation Solution if you are allergic to it or to any of the ingredients. The more frequently reported side effects of Atrovent Inhalation Solution are headache, dryness of the mouth, throat irritation, cough, vomiting and a change in bowel movements. Tell your doctor if any of these are worsening or if you notice anything unusual, during or after using Atrovent Inhalation Solution.
