Deep sea fishing, sometimes called sport or big game fishing, is a form of fishing in which people angle for large open-ocean fish species, like tuna, shark, and swordfish. Deep sea fish is a term for any fish that lives below the photic zone of the ocean. Also, for the same reason, the bacteria that inhabit the organs of these species are mostly extremophiles such as barophiles and psychrophiles. In the epipelagic, the fish, sea mammals, and other sea life>that most people are familiar with are found, even if they can be a little weird. There are very few exceptions to unsustainable deep-sea fisheries around the world. One is the Azores fishery for black scabbardfish.
