Addisonian crisis is a medical emergency and potentially life-threatening situation requiring immediate emergency treatment. Addison’s disease symptoms usually develop slowly, often over several months, and may include: Muscle weakness and fatigue, Weight loss and decreased appetite, Darkening of your skin, Low blood pressure, even fainting, Salt craving, Low blood sugar, Nausea, diarrhea or vomiting, Muscle or joint pains, Irritability, Depression, Acute adrenal failure.
You have been diagnosed with Addison’s disease, and you have stress such as infection, injury, trauma, or dehydration. You may need to have your medication adjusted. Your weight increases over time. Your ankles begin to swell. You develop other new symptoms. If you have symptoms of adrenal crisis, give yourself an emergency injection of your prescribed medication.
